Sometimes all it takes is a new product to spruce up an otherwise bland head of hair, dull facial or body skin or traditional make up routine. If you really want to spice things up, take note of the 5 following items tested and critiqued by our very own Hairstylesdesign.com staff. These products are sure to put some oomph into any blasé beauty regimen.
For a flawless faux tan: winter’s gone but the remnants of sun free skin still remain. If you’re tired of looking like a pale piece of pastry, replenish your skin with this fantastic, and I mean fantastic self tanning primer. I loved it. Previously we were concerned about looking like tangerines but with this product, one no longer has to worry about nasty morning surprises of waking up orange. Thanks to ‘Hourglass’, Solar Tan provides a great looking natural bronzed glow that will only deepen the more often you use it. To ensure you get the color you want and don’t end up too dark in certain spots, you can put it on with a moisturizer which allows the finish to set perfectly even. Can be found for $60.00 US/$66.00 CDN EXCLUSIVE at SEPHORA 1877-SEPHORA
For hair volume: I’m not much of a lemony scent person but I have to admit, I was sold on this product; mostly because it made the hair unbelievably soft. If you want to get really baby soft locks, Oscar Blandi’s Pronto Wet Instant Volumizing Conditioner and Shampoo delivers great results at achieving silky smooth hair. The scent is lemony fresh and stays on the hair after the product washes off. This is definitely a great buy for hydrating locks and creating volume. It stayed true to its claims and for $24.00 US / $24.00 CDN it sure should! Be sure to find it EXCLUSIVE at SEPHORA 1-877-SEPHORA
For instant hair revival: This whole concept about dry shampoo is new to us but we really loved the Ojon Rub-Out Dry Cleanser. It works wonders with any color hair and doesn’t give the ‘grey’ ashy appearance other dry cleansers may leave behind. These types of products work best on flat, straight or wavy hair that tend to get oily. Fortified with wildcrafted Ojon oil, this blend is also eco friendly which in this day and age, matters to us a lot! Unlike some other dry shampoos, the smell is nice and fades throughout the day. Hair can go a few days without an actual wet shampoo and with this great hair product, your hair will be grease free and full of life. $24.00 US for 4.5 oz. Sold at Sephora, QVC, Neiman Marcus, Fred Segal, Ulta and www.ojon.com.
For fabulous skin: Let’s try to sum this up in one word. Absolutely delicious - alright 2 words. It’s almost hard to not write an entire article dedicated to this product. Ojon’s Batana Body Cream smells so celestial that I’ve literally never used that word to describe something in my entire life until now. The cream isn’t sticky, goes on smooth and stays with you for hours and hours on end until you remove it in the shower. Stuffed with White Cacao, Shea, Murumuru butters, antioxidants, Acai oils, Copaiba, Buruti from the buruti palm, Beta-carotene, omega-3, 6 and 9…gasp...have to catch my breath; this cream stands alone. Can be found at Sephora, QVC, Neiman Marcus, Fred Segal, Ulta and www.ojon.com for $40.00 US/ $43.00 CDN.
For a perfect pout: Truthfully I can’t remember the last time I wore lipstick, I mean actual lipstick that rolled up from a tube as I’m more of a lip gloss kinda gal but I must admit, I loooved Shiseido Perfect Rouge lipstick. I almost forgot why I stopped wearing it in the first place. Shiseido Perfect Rouge is indeed that, a lipstick for a perfect pucker. I tried on mauves, light pinks, bright fuchsia and couldn’t decide which was my favourite! Mind you some colors were better suited for day than evening and vice versa but the quality of the lipstick was worth every penny. Of the enormous array of color selections, the lipstick goes on smooth and flawlessly. Their bright pinks are gorgeous and just in time for this Spring where the color for makeup is vivid, intense and shouts look at me! We love these shades.
